Born in Vienna, Austria, Sepp Straka relocated to the United States as a teenager before playing collegiate golf at the University of Georgia. Turning professional in 2016, Straka broke ground by becoming the first Austrian golfer to earn a full PGA Tour card. He earned his first PGA Tour title at the 2022 Honda Classic, becoming the first Austrian to win on tour. He followed up his breakout victory with additional victories, including the 2023 John Deere Classic and the 2025 American Express and Truist Championship. Â
Straka's career milestones extend to the international stage, where he achieved a career-high Official World Golf Ranking of No. 7. His major championship record is headlined by a tied-second finish at the 2023 Open Championship, the best major performance by an Austrian golfer in history. Straka was selected to represent Team Europe in the 2023 Ryder Cup, playing an instrumental role in Europe's victory at Marco Simone.
